Blackbeard Costume

If you love the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, a Blackbeard costume is now available based upon the new character in the fourth movie: On Stranger Tides. This character is based upon the real Blackbeard, otherwise known as Edward Teach (1680-1718). His name was based upon his thick black beard.

You can see a great Blackbeard child costume here on the left. It include a long jacket, a wild-looking beard, a shoulder strap, belt, two buckles and a hat. The sword, shirt, pants and boots shown are not included.

Blackbeard was an infamous English pirate who was born in Bristol. He joined the crew of the pirate Benjamin Hornigold in 1716. Hornigold sailed from New Providence, a Caribbean island.

He soon had his own ship called the Queen Anne’s Revenge and sailed around the West Indies and eastern coast of the Americal colonies. He was killed in 1718 in a fierce battle with sailors led by Lieutenant Robert Maynard.

Edward Teach (c. 1680 – 22 November 1718), better known as Blackbeard, was a notorious English pirate who operated around the West Indies and the eastern coast of the American colonies.

On the right you can see an adult plus Blackbeard costume which includes a pirate coat, hat, jabot, and belt. It doesn’t  include the sword, beard, wig, pants, hook hand and boots shown in the picture.
