On Stranger Tides – Pirates Of The Caribbean 4
The new movie, “On Stranger Tides”, in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is being released in May 2011. Personally, I haven’t been as impressed with the 2nd and 3rd movies as with the first. It’s been four years since the last film “At World’s End” which was too long and somewhat confusing.
The new release “On Stranger Tides” has had mixed reviews. Some say it’s the best yet. Others only admit that it’s better than the last one. However, if you love Captain Jack Sparrow as I do, then it’s a must-watch.
The movie has a new director, Rob Marshall. Two of the main characters from the first three films, Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), do not appear in the new movie. Instead, we have two new characters in the form of Blackbeard (Ian McShane) and Blackbeard’s daughter, Angelica (Penelope Cruz).
The storyline is that Captain Jack Sparrow meets up with a woman from his past, Angelica. However, he’s not sure if it’s love or if she is trying to con him so that he will help her find the Fountain of Youth. He finds himself forced aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, Blackbeard’s ship.
